As you can imagine (or know!) Umbria is hot in the summer and cold in the winter (heating needed from late October to April). The villa has both central gas heating as well as a wood burner in the top floor lounge.
Villa Quercia is a 375 meters elevation and on the side of a hill (with a castle on the top and so benefits from both the cooler temperature of height as well as any wind that may be present.
The humid and hot conditions of many villas is not an issue in Villa Quercia as the villa is also built into the hillside so is kept cool year round (warmer in winter, cooler in summer) because the earth moderates temperatures inside.
The huge pool is heated and with a cover so is warm early in the season and is kept warm longer than the standard villa pool.
